MUSIC LOVERS TO FIND HOT SPOT AT ISLAND FEST
Think Island Fest is just for art enthusiasts? Well, you
couldn’t be more wrong! The 19th Annual Florida Keys
Island Fest offers a musical melting pot that is guaranteed
to satisfy your craving, no matter what your style or genre
may be! From steel drums to rhythm and blues, Island Fest has
it all. On Saturday and Sunday, April 10 & 11, Founders
Park will host a tuneful extravaganza the best the Keys has
ever heard!
Kicking off Saturday’s performances will be the easy-listening,
beachy stylings of Collins & Webb. Next, relax
with your feet in the sand and enjoy local favorite Island
Vibes. Wrapping up the day’s musical line up will
be steel drum performances by Toko Irie & Family,
a reggae sensation sure to blow you away!
Musical festivities continue on Sunday, starting with Dave
Feder and his Hillbilly Flamenco. Performing alongside
him will be local artist Pasta Pantaleo, who will “choreograph” paintings
to Dave’s rhythm tic guitar playing. This unique duo
is definitely not to be missed! Also not to be missed are
the ever-popular Van Lears, who are sure to captivate
listeners with their distinct country / pop harmonies. The
brothers, Trey & Andrew Bentley, are said to have been
making music since before they could walk! Last, but certainly
not least, Outta d’ Blues will take the stage and entertain
music lovers with their Chicago-style electric blues.
Whatever your musical tendencies are, Island Fest has them
covered! “What makes this event so fabulous is that it
really does cater to everyone,” says Judy Hull, Executive
Director for the Islamorada Chamber of Commerce. “The
music was specially selected to perfectly accompany the art,
the setting and, most importantly, to appeal to all.”
