ON THE BEACH AT ISLAND FEST
The place to be on Saturday and Sunday, April 4 & 5, is the 18 th Annual
Florida Keys Island Fest! Founders Park will come alive with music, art, food
and fun! The fest is being held from 10 am to 5 pm daily and with free admission,
this event has it all!
Island Fest truly offers something for everyone. Over 100 exhibitors from
all across the country will be displaying their unique, hand-made creations
including watercolors, sculptures, jewelry, oil paintings, crafts and more.
Fine art is not the only reason to visit Island Fest this year. Food competitions
will also be featured, as well as entertainment for the kids. If music is more
your thing, we’ve got that covered, too!
This year, Island Fest boasts live music from today’s hottest acts,
performing everything from bluegrass to reggae. Island Vibes, a local
favorite, will be Saturday’s entertainment, along with the well-known Mr.
Nice Guy. We’re also pleased to welcome Felix the Catt and Baga
Tricks, a popular reggae band recently showcased at The Marley Festival.
Sunday’s line-up is just as exciting, starting the day with the Key’s
own Dave Feder known for his Hillbilly Flamenco, Feder has
been deemed “one of the most exquisite and breathtaking acoustic guitarists…” Influenced
by Flamenco and other music styles, Feder has had a musical career spanning
over 20 years and one that has earned him a dedicated following. He has a record
deal with Lyra Recordings, and can be seen performing at outdoor festivals
and intimate events across the country. Wrapping up the afternoon Micah another
local favorite will be performing his popular Island Grass – style music.
Last, but certainly not least, Island Fest is proud to be hosting The
Larkin Sisters. Shaunna and Tina Larkin have performed at the Grand
Ole Opry and have recently released an album with Audium Records. Known for
combining bluegrass and country, The Larkin Sisters have performed
with some of the biggest names in the business, including country’s
most famous voice, Dolly Parton. Dolly herself has written songs for Shaunna
and Tina, and can be heard doing back-up vocals, and even appears in their
newest music video. “Filled with the energy to help launch their blueprint
for a totally new day in country music,” The Larkin Sisters are
sure to blow you away!

Sunday’s line-up is just as exciting with a special appearance by Micah,
performing their widely popular Island Grass-style music.
