Troop 914 is a wonderfully large troop of very good boys headed up by Sgt. Roy Bogue, Dr. Jim Gahagen, Dr. Brian Magrane and many other dedicated local role models. They've had a very high percentage of boys make it to Eagle Scout and they have a good mix of boys, including boys in the 13 - 17 age group from all of the Islamorada area schools as well as boys who are home schooled. If you know a boy who is interested in scouting, call Roy Bogue at 305-797-0144. This troop teaches no-nonsense good old fashioned scouting values and actively travels each summer to High Adventure Boy Scout Camps for summer camp. The troop is always happy to accept donations for camp fees and the boys work year round in different fundraising activities to help pay for summer camp. They meet every Monday night during the school year at from 7:30 until 9:00 PM at Island Christian School.

Treasure Village Montessori Charter School (MICS) grew off of the foundations of Montessori Island School, a private Montessori elementary program established in 1996. This program based its curriculum on the philosophies of Dr. Maria Montessori, as does the current charter program.
In 1998, a group of parents and community members organized and wrote a charter that would enable residents of the Upper Keys the ability to attend an elementary Montessori school free from tuition, transportation constraints, available testing services, free and reduced lunch, and other resources available to them through the public school system in a private school setting.
MICS has grown over the last seven years to an original enrollment of 60 and a teaching staff of 4, to its current enrollment of 160 (with a strong waitlist) and a teaching staff of 20. MICS started out as a Kindergarten to third grade program that has since added VPK, fourth, fifth and sixth grades.
